Wall. Mainly ragstone with some early early red brick repairs. Probably C16
with C17 and later repairs. Stone coping. The north wall follows the line of
the old track to Little Wakering Hall and turns south to follow Little Wakering
Road. Ragstone walls are very unusual in Essex and it is recorded a local
farmer Thomas Rawlings in 1574 was charged with theft of stone from the now
demolished north vestry, it is possible that the wall was constructed of the
vestry stonework about this time:
