TL 61 SW HIGH EASTER THE STREET (north side)
3/53 Tye Cottage
GV II
House. C14 and C16. Timber framed and plastered with peg tile roof. One bay of hall and C16 2 storey unjettied crosswing of 2 unequal bays. This has a gabled front and hip to the rear. The hall has a large hipped dormer with C17 coved painted timber cornice. Windows are C20 small pane casements to the crosswing and C19 casements with a single horizontal glazing bar to the hall. Small stack on west of ridgeline of crosswing, the east flank ground floor of which is black boarded. The parlour/solar crosswing has stop chamfered joists, a coupled rafter roof and a 2 light diamond window complete in its east flank. The hall has an inserted floor, a painted brick front wall and a heavy soot blackened crown post roof with the collars notched into the collar purlin. This consists only of the 'high' bay of a former 2 bay hall and one heavy tie beam, arch brace survives in situ.
