II
First World War Memorial. 1920. White marble monument with 4 bronze plaques.
Life-sized statue of First World War Infantryman on pedestal with slightly-
battered sides, each with raised plaque. Front plaque, above carved wreath,
inscribed: ERECTED 1920 BY THE PARISHIONERS AND FEDERATED WORKMEN OF SHOTTON
COLLIERY TO THE MEMORY OF THE 152 MEN WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919.
Remaining plaques name those who died in the First and Second World Wars.
