Details
TOLLESBURY WEST STREET TL 9410-9510 (north side) 8/37 Nos. 10 and 12 GV II
House. Timber framed, roughcast rendered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays facing S, with internal stack at right end. C18/C19 wing to rear of left end. Single-storey lean-to extension along full length of rear. 2 storeys with attics. 3-window range of C20 casements. C20 door. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. The interior has jowled posts, much exposed framing, chamfered transverse beams. Many C20 introduced features, including imitation Tudor doorheads, internal herringbone brick nogging and pieces of carved wood. The stack at the right end also serves no. 8 (Rose Briar Cottage), item 8/36, q.v.
