CORFE CASTLE EAST STREET (West side) SY 96 81 7/57 Nos. 34 (Penny Cottage) and 36 (formerly listed as The 20.11.59 Cottage and Little Wickers) GV II Pair of cottages in terrace - possibly originally one house. Late C17 - early C18. Rubble stone walls, thatched roofs, brick stack at left end, central stone stack. One storey and attics, No. 34 has part-glazed ledged door. Ground floor has one horizontally sliding sash with glazing bars and shutters, under flat stone arch. Attic has 2 dormers, one with casements, one with horizontally sliding sashes, both with glazing bars. No. 36 has ledged door in altered opening. Ground floor has one casement and one horizontally sliding sash, both with glazing bars, under flat stone arches. Attic has one dormer with horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. (RCHM, monument 81. Dorset. Vol. II).
