Details
OBORNE ST 61 NE OBORNE VILLAGE 6/86 Schoolhouse 11.7.51 GV II Former Schoolhouse, originally built as parsonage. Converted to residential use. Early C17, with C19 alterations. Rubble-stone walls, with dressed stone quoins. Plain clay-tile roof with stone gable-copings. Brick stack at north gable. Two storeys. Four windows, ground floor: three, four, (door) three-lights. First floor: three, four, two, three-lights. Hollow- chamfered Ham stone mullions, with mainly fixed lozenge-leaded lights, some iron casements with lights. Separate returned labels to ground floor. Front door, right of centre, plank-and-muntin, C20. Dressed stone voussoirs over. The south gable-end wall has a 3-light mullion and transom window with separate label over, C19. Fixed windows and an iron casement at top centre with a fixed-horizontal glazing-bar. The late C19 extension at south-west corner has brick-dressed walls. Two-light stone mullion window to lane, and brick-dressed window to rear. (RCHM, Dorset I, p 176(7)).
