Detached house in grounds with Gothic detailing. c.1796 for Adair Hawkins and extended shortly afterwards. Brick walls, mostly rendered in stucco. Slate roofs, with gable ends. Gable stacks. Plan: rectangular Georgian plan with a central through hall containing staircase, and two rooms to each side. Two storeys with cellars and attics. 3 windows, sashes with pointed heads, marginal glazing bars and cross bars, wooden cills and separate returned labels over each window. Porch entrance at centre, 2 leaf plank doors in a pointed archway. Returned labels over. East gable wall has a 2 storey canted bay window, 1 : 3 : 1 light with the same detailing. North east wing added early C19, 3 light window to ground floor and two 2 light windows to first floor, same gothic detailing. French window on gable end. Interior: the hall staircase has cusped tracery between the balusters and there are stained glass shields of arms in two of the windows; otherwise the fittings are in the ordinary classical style of the period and include some original decorated iron fire grates.
