Details

SY 49 NW MARSHWOOD BATTS LANE 6/15 Hackeridge Farmhouse 4.12.51 GV II Farmhouse. Mid C17. Dressed lias stone walls. Thatch roof with gable- ends, stone gable-copings and brick stacks to left hand and right hand at ridge. Plan: main house with C17 L-wing at rear. C18 stable extension at right hand in rubble stone, with thatched half-hipped roof. 2½ storeys. Four windows: stone mullions, ovolo-moulded, of 2 and 3 lights set in ogee-moulded stone frames. Hood-moulds over leaded window-panes with vertical stanchion-bars inside. Central half-dormer of two lights with a pitched stone coping. Front door, plank, with stone straight-chamfered jambs under a Tudor arch-head. West gable with two small C17 windows to attic room. Source: R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 157(8).
