Details
TARRANT RAWSTON ST 90 NW - 3/52 Rawston Farmhouse 26.6.53 GV II*
Detached farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17 central range with C18 east range and C19 west range. Early range of chequered flint and rubble with ashlar dressing. Other ranges in brick, of Flemish bond to the main east front and of English-bond elsewhere. Tiled roofs with end brick stacks. Main facade: symmetrical, 2 storeys and attics, 5 bay. Greensand ashlar rusticated quoins. Central bay flanked by greensand ashlar pilaster strips. 4-pane C19 sashes under segmental brick arches with stone keystones. 2 narrow single light sashes flank the central doorcase. C20 rusticated brick and concrete porch partially obscuring C18 ashlar pedimented and dentilled architrave. 8-panel door. Early range has two 4-light stone mullioned windows with returned labels, that to the upper floor having ovolo-moulded mullions and that to the lower floor having chamfered mullions.
