Details

HOUND STREET 1. 1625 (North West Side) No 43 (Melrose) No 45 (Dodill's) ST 6316 1/127 30.11.71. ST 6416 2/127 II GV 2. C17 with C18 additions and later alterations. Long 2-storey front of course rubble. Stone slate roof. No 43 has 1 segmental headed dormer and 6 windows on 1st floor; 5 of these are wood mullioned and transomed windows with lead glazing and are probably modern or replacement; sash window at left hand end. On ground floor from left to right hand, modern vehicular ledged door, 3 transomed and mullioned windows, painted stone doorway with Doric pilasters and entablature, a wrought iron lamp bracketed and, at right hand end, a 6-fielded panelled door with rectangular fanlight. No 45 of 2-storeys and attic. 4 window bays. Segmental headed dormer. 2-light metal casements with lead glazing. Doorway in 3rd bay from left hand end with moulded architrave frame and moulded cornice on carved console brackets; door with cover strips and ornate hinges. Panelling internally.

Nos 33 to 49 (odd) form a group.
