LYDLINCH HOLEBROOK LANE (EAST) ST 71 SW 4/66 Holebrook Green Farmhouse - II House, probably c 1600. Whitewashed rubble raised in brick above wall-plate. Corrugated iron roof with gable ends and brick stack left of door. L shaped plan with cross passage. 2 storeys, 5 window range. Variety of Cl9 2 and 3 light casements mainly with horizontal glazing bars. One ground floor window has remains of returned label. C19 outshut left. Glazed front door. Internal features: plank and muntin partitions; chamfered ceiling beams and wall plates, intersecting in west block. West block has complex moulded timber bresummer and north wall of eastern block has massive arched chamfered bresummer. One fireplace dated 1686. Roof of type identified at Friar Waddon, Portesham having collared truss with collar halved and tenoned into principal rafters and a butted ridge piece. "RCHM Dorset, Vol III, Central," p 141, no 14.
