2. Includes Nos 17 to 21 (odd) West Hill Road. Formerly the Bournemouth School of Art, circa 1880, ground floor now remodelled for motor showrooms. 3 storeys, pink brick with sparse stone dressings (bases, capitals, cornices). Upper floors divided in 3 by giant Ionic pilasters of brick, supporting entablature, modillion cornice, and pediment (containing sculptured coat-of-arms) flanked by balustraded parapet. 1st floor windows round-arched, except wider flattened central light, and marked off by small Composite pilasters. 2nd floor windows straight-headed, also divided by pilasters, with capitals wider than pilasters and supported on console brackets. Rear elevation (south) to Westhill Road of same materials tripartite windows with brick pilaster-mullions on 3 floors, topped by long glazed dormer strip of studios; shaped gable with Venetian window.

Nos 1 to 17 (odd) Pembroke Hotel, Nos 25 to 31 (odd), Nos 39 to 45 (odd) and Nos 2 to 34 (even) Poole Hill form a group with Nos l66 to l96 (even) Commercial (Road), also the West Hill Road facades of Nos 1 to 11 (odd), Nos 17 to 21 (odd) and Nos 4l to 45 (odd) form a further group with The Pembroke Arms, West Hill Road.
