GV II

Small house. Dated 1831, heightened at rear in C20. Painted stone rubble with slate hung front. Grouted scantle slate roof with half-hipped ends. Rendered gable end stacks. Plan: Double depth plan with 2 principal front rooms and central entrance. The back rooms are probably shallower service rooms. Single storey lean-to on either side concealed by high embattled parapets at front. The eaves of the back have been raised in C20 to form a full 2 storeys. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front; central first floor blind. Original 16-pane sashes; first floor left is a later 4-pane sash; all with slate cills. Central gabled porch with slate roof and sides, each made from one large piece of slate; half-glazed door with side-lights. Stone rubble flanking walls conceal lean-tos on each end wall; the walls rise above the roof and have embattled parapets which step down following the roof profile; each has a blind front window. Tablet set in the east gable end has initials RR and date 1831. Interior not accessible
