Details
DITTISHAM SX8654-SX8754 MANOR STREET 17/291 DITTISHAM (North side), Sunnydale Cottage including front area railings and gate-piers.
GV II
House. Circa 1840. Probably stone rubble. Stuccoed and lined out. Asbestos tile hipped roof with deep eaves and black glazed ridge tiles. 2 rendered brick stacks on right hand side with yellow clay pots. Plan: Double depth plan of 2 rooms, one behind the other and an entrance hall and probably the staircase on the left hand side in a slight projection at the back. Exterior: storeys and basement. Asymmetrical 2-window south front. C19 sashes, the first floor with horizontal glazing hars, all with small horns. Doorway to left ha soriginal C19 6-panel door, the bottom panels flush, the two panels moulded; rectangular overlight and pretty C19 wrought-iron porch with ogee head, floral open-work on the front and latice sides. Rear elevation: to the right the rear wall projects. C19 sashes with glazing bars, the right hand with margin panes and small C20 extension below. Including C19 front area railings and gate-piers. The railings are set on a stone rubble dwarf wall and have fleur-de-lis finials, the central pier and the terminal pier to the and pair of gate-piers to the left are stuccoed and lined-out and have caps with rounded ogee tops. Interior: not inspected but probably retains original features and joinery.
