GV II
House, divided into 3 cottages. Circa early C17 or earlier, divided into 3 cottages probably in C18 or C19, and with C20 alterations. Pebbledash stone rubble. Gable ended roof clad in corrugated asbestos. Internal stack at right hand end with rebuilt rendered shaft and large rendered lateral stack at rear of left hand end. Plan and development: Probably originally a 2 or 3 room plan, the right hand end room has a gable end stack, the left hand end room has a lateral stack at the rear and a projecting 2-storey bay or oriel at the front; the centre room appears to be unheated but this might be as a result of its conversion into 3 cottages in C18 or C19. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window north west front; the left hand end of front breaks forward and is probably a hall bay or oriel. All small late C19 or C20 2 and 3-light casements mostly with glazing bars. Doorways to right and left of centre with C20 glazed doors, the right hand (Stenthill) has circa early C20 gabled porch, left hand (Sunnycroft) has C20 glazed porch. The left hand cottage has side doorway with C20 glazed door C20 glazed porch and C20 small casements, At the rear a few C20 casements and a large projecting lateral stack to right with slate weathered set-offs, and tapered shaft heightened in red brick in C20. Interior: Only the right hand ground floor room (Stenthill) was inspected where there is a chamfered cross-beam with step stops.
