II
Former estate laundry and manager's house on the Revelstoke estate, now one house. Dated 1888. Probably by George Devey's office. Slate rubble and white brick dressings. Slate gabled, hipped and half-hipped roofs with deep eaves and projecting verges at heads of gables. Asymmetrical rambling plan with house to the north and former laundry to the south near the road. Two storey. The laundry has large louvred ventilator turret with pyramidal roof with wrought iron finial and another louvred ventilator along the ridge. Large glazed window to laundry with double doors. And coach house with half-hipped roof and double doors. The manager's house has an oriel window in the gable and a doorway on the corner with a slate hood on brackets. Large white brick chimney stacks. Stack over the laundry has round-arched red brick panels. Tablet in gable end with Baring monogram and date. Reference: Country Life, April 29th. 1982, page 1236.
