5/12 MILLERS FARMHOUSE
GV II
Farmhouse, early C17. Timber-framed, part plastered, part weatherboarded, roof tiled. 4 bays, lobby-entrance, with extra bay 2 metres long added to E in late C17 or C18, rear extension and porch C20. 3-window range, lower windows C20, upper windows early C19 sashes, shorter than width. Stop-chamfered axial beams. Unglazed window with 2 original diamond mullions in upper rear wall, now inside C20 extension. Clasped purlin roof, half- hipped both ends, with re-used smoke-blackened medieval rafters at angles of hips. Lower W room used as grocer's shop 1886 to circa 1950 (county directories and photograph in NMR).
