Circa 1500 timber-faced cottage altered and extended in late C16. Red brick
infill panels. On sandstone foundations. Steeply pitched thatched roof with
hipped ends. Later red brick addition attached to west in C18. Also thatched
with gabled ends. Main central portion, one storey and attic. Five one-, two-
and three-light casements with glazing bars, the eaves line of the thatch is
taken up and over the head of the dormers. Lower portion to east, one storey
and attic. Two plank doors and three ground floor casements with glazing bars.
Two flush attic dormers with two-light C18/Cl9 century casements with glazing
bars. The eaves line of the thatch is taken up and over the head of the
dormers. The C18 addition is single storey with loft above. Plank door at
right, one C18/C19 three-light casement with glazing bars in segmental arched
opening. Four brick ridge chimney stacks. Interior: in central portion there
are chamfered and stepped stopped beams.
