Details
TAVISTOCK HAMLETS SX 47 SW 5/149 Tamar Valley Cottage - GV II House. Early C19 with mid C19 additions to rear and some C20 alterations. Painted rubble. Asbestos slate roof with gable ends and paired wooden brackets to eaves, slates remaining on second rear wing. Gable end stacks with cornices. Picturesque Gothic style. 2-room plan with central entry and passage, original rear service wing to right and second rear service wing added parallel to first wing, with gable end stack. Overall irregular L-plan. Single storey, with central 4-panelled door with overlight with glazing bars, triangular-headed window to right and left, both 2-light casement of 6 panes each with Y-tracery and flat painted head; gable end right and left have similar window. Rear has 2 single-storey wings, to left of original build, with similar window with Y-tracery at gable end and 2-light casement under eaves to outer side, small single- storey outbuilding attached at gable end with 2-pane light. Wing to right forms 2- span roof, at slightly lower level, with door and 2-light casement in gable end and C20 glazed lean-to; outer side of wing has 2-light 8-pane casement under eaves, stack at junction with main front range. Interior not inspected.
