MONKLEIGH SS42SW 6/147 Monkleigh Millhouse II Shown on O.S. Map as Mill Farm. Millhouse and mill. Early C19. Uncoursed slatestone rubble; gabled slate roof; rendered stone ridge stack, and rendered stone left end stack with bread oven projection. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Late C19 panelled door, with C20 lean-to porch, to left of centre. Segmental stone arches over late C19 two and 3-light casements; central first-floor window widened in C20. Interior: early C19 plank doors with strap hinges, boxed straight-flight staircase to left. First floor not inspected. Subsidiary features: stable to left converted into C20 garage. Taller mill building to right, of slatestone rubble with hipped corrugated iron roof: of 2 storeys and attic, with timber lintels over windows and early C19 plank door with strap hinges; opening for pulley wheel to right. Interior has chamfered-and plain beams, pulley wheel and shaft on first floor and pulley wheel on second floor.
