BEAFORD BEAFORD MOOR SS 51 SE 12/39 Moorparks - GV II

Shown on 0.S. map as Moorpark House. Small farmhouse, now house. Early C19, with minor late C19 alterations. Rendered, probably over stone rubble. Gable-ended scantle-slate roof. Red brick end stacks. Plan: Two-room central entrance plan, with central staircase and integral end stacks, right-hand room slightly larger. Wing at right angles to rear, with end stack (mid to late C19 replacement of early C19 corner stack). Two storeys. Exterior: Plinth and end pilaster strips. Nearly symmetrical 3-bay front; early C19 boxed 12-pane glazing bar sashes (right-hand ground-floor window replaced in the mid to late C20) with cills. Central early C19 six-panelled door (lower 2 panels beaded flush and upper 4 panels moulded and glazed) with beaded wooden frame. Probably late C19 gabled porch with plinth, round-arched entrance and chamfered scalloped barge boards. Rear wing with C19 two-light wooden casements. Interior: 4-panelled doors throughout. Fireplace in right-hand ground-floor room flanked by cupboards. Included as largely unaltered early C19 smallholding house.
