8/177 Bank House 21.12.67 GV II
House, now a branch bank and a house. Early C19. Plastered brick, roofed with slates in fishscale pattern at front, plain slates and handmade red clay tiles at rear. Rectangular plan facing SE, with axial stacks at left end and one room from right end. 2 storeys. 3-window range of original sashes of 16 lights. The door to Bank House, on left, is of 6 panels with a plain rectangular light over, with moulded doorcase and shallow hood on scrolled brackets, at the top of 4 stone steps. The door to Barclay's Bank, on right, is of 6 panels with simple surround and hood, with wrought iron railings each side, re-sited on 5 concrete steps. (The rear wing, formerly listed under the same serial number, 27/408, is now listed separately as serial number 8/178).
