GV II
Farmhouse. Dated and inscribed on fireplace lintel C.C.C. 1600
(Crackenthorpe). Painted roughcast walls, under graduated greenslate roof with
limestone chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Off-centre C20 door in
Tudor-arched surround. 3-light stone-mullioned windows, 2-light over entrance,
and small firewindow left of entrance. Right return wall has 2 small attic
windows. Interior has 2 C17 fireplaces both with Crackenthorpe coat-of-arms,
the later one undated but inscribed C & BC DEUS VERUS. Spiral stone staircase.
