LORTON HIGH LORTON NY 12 NE 10/159 Midtown II Farmhouse now private dwelling. Dated and inscribed over entrance P.W. 1678 with C19 and C20 alterations. Mixed slate rubble, under graduated greenslate roof with original roughcast chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays and rear contemporary extension. Top-glazed recessed door in stone architrave under inscribed lintel. Left flat stone-mullioned 3-light window and right sash window with glazing bars; window right of doorway is round-headed with surround dated MDCCCXLIV, but has remains of the original C17 surround. All openings under continuous hoodmould. Upper-floor 2- and 3-light windows. Left return wall has projecting gable chimney stack and small upper-floor oval window. Rear extension has side 2-light windows under hoodmoulds and projecting drip slates. Rear C19 and C20 windows.
