Shop projecting into square at right-angles to road. Originally two properties. Knocked together in third quarter of C20.
North property (Tom Brodrick) dated 1817 on reset rainwater head in gable but extensively altered in second quarter of C20. Pebble-dash walls. Graduated slate roof with stone copings and kneelers to gable end, stone chimney to west end. Two storeys. Some re-used Victorian mullions to shop front which projects on east and north elevations. First floor has two windows in gable end and four windows to north elevation.
South property (Old Grammar School) once part of Croft House (listed separately). C18 with later alterations. Slobbered rubble with rounded corner and some incised stucco to south elevation. Graduated stone-flagged roof with stone chimney to west end. Two storeys. Gabled porch to east elevation with small window above. South elevation has two sash windows to ground floor and one sash window to first floor.
