Details
ST GORAN SW 94 SE 3/81 Tregavarras Cottage - II
Farmhouse, now house. Circa early - mid C19, with additions of C19 and C20 alterations. Rendered stone rubble. Tiled roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts. Plan: 2 room plan, with a large room to left and smaller parlour to right. There is a wide passage between the two rooms. In C19, a 2-storey outshut was built along the rear of the house, with a kitchen to rear right and and unheated dairy to rear left. Exterior: 2 storeys, a nearly symmetrical 3-window front. At first floor there are two C20 16-pane sashes and central C20 12-pane sash. At ground floor there is a central C19 4-panelled and glazed door with C19 16-pane sash to right and C19 12-pane sash to left. All openings have cambered arches. The right end is blind. To right there is an external stack to the kitchen in the outshut with an oven projection at the base. The left end has external stack in the front range. The outshut to left has C19 2-light 6-pane casement with cambered arch at ground floor and first floor C19 2-light 6-pane cambered arch. At the rear, there is no render. At ground floor to left is a C19 2-light 6-pane casement with timber lintel, and at first floor to left a C20 6-pane sash with cambered arch. C20 porch to centre. Interior: The entrance passage has a straight stair with C19 panelled partition wall at first floor. The front rooms at ground floor has C19 ceiling beams. C20 replacement fireplaces.
