II
Watermill built as a threshing mill and later used as a woollen blanket mill. Early C19. Coursed limestone rubble with raised red sandstone quoins. Graduated grey slate roof. 3 storeys in T-shape. Projecting portion to left has large segmental cart entrance in alternate-block surround. 2 steel casements above in red sandstone surrounds. Right portion has ground floor plank door in alternate-block surround with similar doorway above reached by external stone steps. First and second floor steel casements in red sandstone surrounds. Similar windows to rear. Ground floor interior has wheel pit complete with cast iron wheel and most of the machinery, also at first floor level, now used on that floor only as a clog makers' workshop. Marked on 1900 OS map as Woollen Mill.
