Details
ZENNOR SW 43 NE 4/281 Barns at approximately 20 metres north east of Tregerthen Farmhouse 9.2.88 GV II 2 adjoining barns, probably granaries or hay lofts over shippons and cartshed and adjoining range of stables or shippons and cartshed. Circa early C19 at east end, otherwise circa mid-late C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs with gable ends except for half-hipped end of original barn, right. Plan: overall L-shaped plan. Original rectangular barn, left; larger later barn right with integral single-storey wing at right angles in front of the right-hand end (cartshed). External steps behind the opposing loading/winnowing doorways to first floor of each barn. Original horse trough against short wall at front left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Lower 1 window front original barn left, and tall 2 window front barn, right. Left-hand barn has doorway right of middle and first floor loading doorway towards left. Later barn has symmetrical grouping of openings towards left with doorway central to fenestration on each floor and deep single storey wing at right angles in front on the right. Interior: not inspected. Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
