Pair of attached houses. Circa 1840. Coursed slatestone rubble front, random rubble
to sides and rear, with granite quoins and brick dressings; hipped slate roof with
ridge coping tiles and central ridge stack; gable ends to front wings with stacks to
outer sides.
Pair of attached houses with symmetrical front; each entered from the outer side,
with a front wing to right and left, the central rooms heated by the axial stack and
the rooms, in the front wings by stacks to the outer sides; each house has a rear
service wing of 2-room plan to the centre.
2 storeys, 1:2:1 bays. Each gabled wing has large 6-pane sash at ground floor with
cambered brick head, smaller 12-pane sash at first floor in similar surround, with
scalloped barge-boards and pendant finial to gable. The inner 2 bays have large 12-
pane sashes at ground floor, smaller 12-pane sashes at first floor, all with cambered
brick heads.
Left and right sides have 4-panelled door with overlight, pilasters and bracketed
cornice, 12-pane sash in brick surround at first floor. Lower 2-storey service wings
to rear, with two 2-light casements at ground floor and 2 horizontal sliding sashes
under eaves, 2 doors to end.
