School. 1863 by William Butterfield; extended 1876 by Silvanus Trevail. C20 alterations and additions. Stone rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Rear lateral stack, stepped, in stone rubble with brick shaft; axial stack to right in stone ashlar with embattled cornice.
Plan: Main schoolroom to left, with a crosswing to right, containing a large classroom to front and small room to rear. The main schoolroom is heated from a rear lateral stack and the 2 rooms in the wing from an axial stack. Porch set in the angle to the cross wing at the front. C20 additions to rear left. Gothic style.
Exterior: Asymmetrical single storey front; to left, two C20 2-light casements with buttress between; to end left a stone quatrefoil window. The porch has shouldered arched doorway with plank door and buttress. The gable end of the front wing has 2 tall lancets with C20 glazing and breather above. At the right side are 2 plate-glass sashes with shouldered arches; to right there is a gable over 2 larger similar sashes. The left gable end has large mullion and transom window set off-centre to right with chamfered granite lintel and relieving arch. Corbelled bellcote over with hipped roof and bell. Small single storey privy attached to left. At the rear, the gable end of the cross wing to left has 2 tall lancets. The rear of the main schoolroom has C20 single storey additions with a stone quatrefoil window to right as on the front.
Interior: The main schoolroom has arched-brace and scissors truss roof. Panelled and glazed partition wall to the cross wing.
