House. Circa early C19, with few later alterations; rear wing possibly of an earlier
date. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings and quoins. Hipped slate roof with
ridge tiles. Stacks to sides with brick shafts. Partly in rendered cob.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room of equal size to
front right and left. Rear service rooms. Rear wing to left of 2-room plan.
Exterior: 2 storeys, a symmetrical 3-window front. All windows are early C19 12-
pane sashes with voussoirs and keystones. Central panelled and glazed door with fine
early C19 trellis porch with trefoils in the spandrels of the arch and dentil
cornice. Attached front wall is in slatestone rubble with granite coping, gateway
opposite the front door to the house. The left end is blind. The rear wing is 2-
storey, rendered; four 16-pane sashes at first floor, the second window from the
left blind and painted. Ground floor has two C20 sashes and C19 16-pane sash to
right. C20 addition at the end. The rear of the wing has a catslide roof over a
one-room plan outshut with two C20 windows. The right end of the main house has
single storey lean-to with 6-pane light at the front. First floor has round-arched
stair light with margin glazing. The rear of the main house has door and 2-light 6-
pane casement at ground and first floor.
