GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (south side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/58 Trevrea (formerly listed as Office 10.2.67 (and Flat)

GV II

House, containing offices at ground floor. Early C19, with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble, with granite dressings and granite long and short quoins. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to left with brick shaft; stack to right gable end removed. Partly roughcast; the rear slope of the roof is bitumenised slate. Plan: 2-room plan, with central entrance and principal room to front right and left, each room heated from a gable end stack. There is a central stair tower to rear. There is a one-room plan wing to rear right, for service, heated from a stack at the left side. Probably circa early-mid C19, an addition was made to rear left of one storey and loft, set in the angle to the stair tower. Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front; all windows are early C19, with flat stone arches with keystones and long and short granite jambs. First floor has central 12-pane sash; ground and first floor left and right a 12-pane sash with sidelights. Central C19 6-panelled door with overlight with Gothic glazing bars, recessed with granite jambs. The left end is blind and roughcast, the right end concealed by the adjoining house. At the rear, the stair tower has a hipped roof and tall C20 stair light. To right is the addition, of one storey and loft, with 2-light window with shutters at ground floor and single 6-pane window above. To left, the rear wing is 2-storey, with C19 2-light 5-pane casement, C19 16-pane sash and C20 door with slate hood; first floor has two C19 16-pane sashes. Interior: Not accessible, but may retain features of the early C19.
