Details
ST BURYAN RECTORY ROAD, St Buryan SW 42 SW 5/119 The Academy - GV II House, probably once used as a shop. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Asbestos slate roof with projecting eaves; gable end on left, hipped end on right. Brick chimney over rear wall towards right. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters. Plan: Probably shallow double depth plan with 2 rooms at the front flanking an entrance hall leading to stair hall between rear rooms. Rear right-hand room has large window opening in its right-hand wall probably for former shop window. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly asymmetrical 3-window north-east front with doorway slightly right of middle. (partly blocked on the left). Circa late C19 4-panel door with overlight, circa late C19 or C20 12-pane horned sashes. Right-hand end has 2 original 12-pane hornless sashes to first floor. Interior not inspected.
