GWINEAR-GWITHIAN SW 63 NW 5/8 Roseworthy Barton Farmhouse
- GV II Farmhouse. Circa 1800. Killas rubble with granite dressings. Fairly steep half- hipped grouted scantle slate roof with tall brick chimneys over the side walls. Plan: Double depth plan with wider kitchen/living room to left and parlour to right and passage between leading to stair hall between back kitchen on left with large fireplace and back parlour on right. Extended at the left hand side circa early C19 with a large service room (now the kitchen and rear entrance hall). Exterior: 2 storeys plus 1-storey extension on left. Nearly symmetrical 3 window house front with doorway and window over right of middle. Living room window opening left is larger and has original 12-pane hornless sash. Except for horned copy over the doorway and in the extension all the windows are original 16-pane hornless sashes. Rear is unaltered and has its original sashes. Interior: Most original structural features and joinery survive including dog-leg stair with rectangular balusters and square newel cap, 4-panel doors and arch between passage and stair hall.
