Details
HAYLE LETHLEAN LANE, Phillack SW 5638-5738 9/115 Sandhill Cottage
GV II House. Circa late C18. Built by a Mr Higgins. Slatehanging to front and left hand side. Hipped grouted scantle slate roofs. Brick chimney over left-hand wall. Cast- iron ogee gutters. Plan: Double depth plan. 2 equal-sized rooms at the front with entrance hall leading to rear stair hall between ; possibly integral room plan wing at right angles behind the left hand room, probably slightly later 2 storey kitchen outshut behind the right hand room (thick axial wall between) and later lean-to at the right-hand end. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window south front with central doorway. Possibly original or C19 6-panel door with top panels later glazed. Probably original 16-pane hornless sashes. Interior: Some original joinery but mostly mid or late C19 features.
