2. A large building situated on high ground above St Ives, south of the town. Built in 1774 for John Stephens. John Wood the younger, of Bath may possibly be the architect. Cl9 additions, but the east entrance facade is original a two storey, five window square block, with plain doorway, string course, eaves cornice, battlemented parapet and large battlemented chinmey stack at corners, Two Side wings, one storey, two and three windows with battle- mented parapet. First addition, a two storey, four window square block in the same style, set back and to the north. Last addition to north facade, three storeys, sixteen windows continuing the main line of the first addition. North facade now thirty one-windows total, all double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Only a little of the original interior remains, Built of granite ashlar.
