CARDINHAM SX 16 NW 6/8 Glynn Barton Farmhouse - II
Farmhouse ; formerly part of the Glynn estate, now house. Early C19, circa 1830, with some C20 alterations. Rendered stone rubble. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shaft to left and rendered shaft to right. Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front right and left ; central rear stair hall and shallow service room to rear right and left. Attached to right is a single storey addition of one-room plan, heated from a stack at the rear. Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front ; the ground floor has central 6- panelled door in moulded surround with fanlight ; large early C19 16-pane sash to right and left. Slat canopy on wooden posts along the whole of the front. The first floor has central 16-pane sash, 12-pane sash with sidelights to right and left, all of C19. The left side has 4-pane sash at grouand floor, 12-pane sash at first floor to left. Attached to right is a single storey C19 addition with hipped roof ; C19 16-pane sash and C20 2-light casement to front, 2 C20 windows at the right side, door and stack to rear. The rear of the house has 6-panelled door to right ; C20 window at ground and first floor to left. Central C19 20-pane sash lighting the stair. Interior: Not inspected.
