GV II
Farmhouse. Circa early to mid C17 partly altered in late C20. Granite rubble,
granite ashlar, and granite moorstone. Slate roof with gable end on left and hipped
end on right. Circa late C20 gabled parapet coping with scrolled kneelers copying
circa late C16 design (qv Mansion House, Blisland) on left hand gable end. Stone
rubble end stack on left with moulded dripcourse and projecting originally rear
lateral stack on right, incorporated in later outshot extension.
Plan: Internal partitions removed and original plan uncertain; probably 2 room and
cross or through passage plan, the left hand room heated by an end stack and the
right hand room by a rear lateral stack. Chesher's Cornishman's House records the
corner of 1 room partitioned off for a service room. In late C20 lean-to outshot
added or rebuilt across rear elevation.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front with 2-light granite mullion
windows inserted on ground and first floor in late C20. Gabled circa mid C17 granite
rubble porch with carved finial. Round headed granite arch and C20 door to entrance.
Interior: Ceiling beams and roof structure renewed in late C20. Partitions removed.
Interior not inspected, information from owner.
