ST TUDY CHURCH VIEW, St Tudy SX 0676-0776 8/208 Nos 1 and 2

GV II

2 cottages. Possibly circa C17 origins remodelled in C19 and C20. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Brick end stacks and projecting stone rubble rear lateral stack. Plan: Original plan uncertain and interior was not accessible at time of survey (1986). Single depth with No 1 Church View on left comprising a 2 room plan; entrance to right of centre with large left hand room heated by end stack and smaller right hand room unheated. No 2 Church View to right comprises a 2-room plan with entrance near centre, the left hand room heated by a projecting rear lateral stack and the right hand room by an end stack. The front wall of No 2 on right is set forward and there are 2 straight joints on either side of the entrance. It is possible that these 2 cottages were originally a house of 3-room plan, probably divided in the C19. Exterior: 2-storeys. Asymmetrical 4 window front. No 1 on left has a 3-light casement and 1-light casement flanking a C20 part glazed door. 2 circa early C20 2- light casements on first floor. No 2 is set slightly forward with a 4-pane window on left and 6-pane sash on right flanking a C20 plank door. Two 2-light casements on first floor. Interior: Not accessible.
