Farmhouse, now private house. Probably C17 origins. Stone rubble with large granite
quoins. Slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stacks and projecting stone
rubble side lateral stacks with set offs and cloam oven projection.
Plan: The original arrangement of the plan is uncertain. The house has been altered
in the C19 and C20 and has been truncated, the rear wing having originally extended
some 2 metres further to rear. The house is of overall 'L' shaped plan, the front
range with a two room and central entrance plan and the wing to rear left containing
a further two rooms, both heated by side lateral stacks. Circa C19 outshut to rear
of right hand partly remodelled in C20. The ground slopes down to right and there is
a cellar beneath the right hand room.
Exterior: Two storeys. Almost symmetrical 3-window front with dressed stone arches
to the ground floor openings. C20 plank door near centre flanked by two C20 2-light
casements with three similar casements on first floor.
Interior: C20 floor joists in left hand room and rear wing . The left hand
fireplace has a chamfered granite surround and a second fireplace opening on right
which contains a flat horizontal slate slab pierced with two round holes about 6"
diameter and a small grate below. The fireplace to the room directly to rear has
chamfered granite jambs and the fireplace in the rear room of the the left hand wing
is partly blocked. First floor not inspected.
