SOUTH PETHERWIN SX38SW Bank barn, shippon, engine 2/3 house and cart shed range about 40 metres south west of Brockle Farmhouse GV II Bank barn house, engine house, shippon and cartshed range. Circa early C18 shippon, C18 bank barn and C19 house engine house and cart shed. Slate rubble with granite dressings, shippon partly cob. Dry rag slate hipped and gable-ended roofs. L-shaped on plan. 2 storey bank barn with 6 shippon doorways on ground floor with slate round arches and granite keepstones (3 blocked to form windows) 2 large barn loading doorways to first floor and small window on left. Shippon adjoining at right angles to right with slate rubble ground floor on exposed bed- rock and with cob first floor; small windows and blocked doorway on ground floor and loft doorway above. Lean-to outshut at rear of shippon and C19 block in rear angle with pigeon holes in gable end. Polygonal house engine house behind bank barn with conical hipped slate roof and pigeon; rear doorway of barn to right of engine house. Cart shed on left (south east) end of barn, is open fronted and has roughly hewn monolithic granite parts the left bay is closed and has double doors, one of the posts to the 3 open bays is missing. Interior: not complete. House engine said to have been removed.
