CAMBORNE TRESLOTHAN SW 63 NE 8/100 Treslothan Church Cottages GV II

Pair of cottages, now one dwelling. Dated 1845 over central window; by George Wightwickof Plymouth, for the Pendarves estate; recently altered and restored. Snecked granite ashlar, slate roof. H-plan formed by short central range with cross-wings. Tudor style. One and 1½ storeys; chamfered plinth; the set-back single-storey centre has a 6-light chamfered mullion- and-transom window with diamond leaded glazing, and over the centre of this a datestone with raised lettering:- E.W.W.P. 1845 A pair of chimneys in front and behind the ridge at each end. The wings have matching windows at ground floor, simple 2-light windows above, and gable copings with kneelers. The side walls each have a gabled porch with Tudor-arched outer doorway with moulded surround and hollow spandrels. Interior not inspected. History: part of small model village built by E.W.W.Pendarves on site of former hamlet of Treslothan. Reference: Charles Thomas Mrs Percival's Endowed School at Penponds and Treslothan, Camborne 1761-1876 (1982).
