GV II
Farmhouse. Circa early C19, incorporating some materials and datestone inscribed with raised lettering (16W99) from former house. Roughly coursed granite rubble front with dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones and lintels side and rear walls painted. Half-hipped slurried scantle slate roof with some reused C17 hand-made crested clay ridge tiles; brick chimneys over side walls. Double depth plan with parlour, left, kitchen/living room, right, cross passage between leading to central stair between rear service rooms: pantry, left and back kitchen or dairy, right and clasping the rear right hand corner is a single storey partly hipped-roofed stone back porch/scullery lean-to. 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window front facing roughly south with doorway and fenestration grouped slightly towards the left. Doorway within gable ended brick porch with central pointed arched window, ledged door on right hand side. Ground floor windows are larger and all have 6-pane horned sashes. Interior is little altered since built with most of its original or later C19 carpentry and joinery including dog-leg stair with stick balusters and turned newels with ball finials. There are two 2-panel doors one with fielded panels, probably reused from former house. Probably on an ancient site, the present house is essentially unaltered since the C19.
