Details

MULLION CHURCHTOWN SW 61 NE 5/83 The Old Inn 10 7 57 GV II Public house. Possibly late C17 with 2 mid C19 wings to side and rear south west and north west. Late C17 part whitewashed stone rubble with cob first floor. Thatched roof with gabled ends and eyebrow eaves. Rendered brick stack at gable end. 2 room plan with central cross passage at right angles to road. 2-storeys. 2-window front almost symmetrical. Ground floor 2 timber sashes 3 panes per light with horns either side of central C20 replica door. First floor 2 sashes with pointed heads and with intersecting glazing bars above, 3 panes per sash with horns. Mid C19 stuccoed south west wing to left has quoin pilasters and hipped slate roof. 3-storeys. One bay to front with sashes, 2 panes per sash. Left hand (west) return, 2 bay windows with plated timber sashes on first floor. Mid C19 rear wing, also stuccoed, 2-storeys with 4-window front facing road. Large exposed stone fireplace on right of C17 block with moulded timber lintel and cloam oven. Roof not accessible. Floor beams renewed and the interiors entirely restructured.
