Details

MULLION TREWOON SW 61 NE 5/92 Clahar Cottage 28 9 78 II Cottage, C18, rubble walls with plastered cob upper walls some whitewashed or painted and some blockwork repairs. Thatched roof and brick gable chimneys. Plan much altered. 2-storeys. Asymmetrical. Originally faced north-west. Facade now reorientated to face south-east comprising horizontal timber sliding sash, 6 panes per sash, window on left of C20 partly glazed entrance door. C20 timber stable door beyond. On left-hand side of facade, C20 single storey extension of whitewashed rubble, projects beyond facade. Slope of thatched roof continues down over this. On first floor, from left to right, horizontal timber sash window, 4 panes per sash, horizontal timber window, 6 panes per sash, C20 4-pane casement window and C20 6-pane casement window. On the north-west, facing the road, the facade is pieced by 3 asymmetrical windows comprising a C20 2-pane window, a 4-pane sash and a C20 6-pane top hung window. Room on the north-east is open to the roof and the fireplace has been removed. The room on the south-west has a large fireplace now blocked. Some C18 ovolo-moulded beams to ceiling of ground floor. Roof timbers not accessible.
