House, formerly farmhouse. C16 core, early C18 alterations, early C19 remodelling
C20 alterations. Stone rubble rendered to the front and to the first floor at the
rear. Slate roof, rendered chimneys to left and right gable ends, rendered
chimney to gable end of rear left wing. Evidence in roofspace of C16 single depth
range. Rear left wing has similar trusses but is a separate build with former
external wall about ½ metre from the rear wall of the main range. Main range
completely remodelled early C19 with gabled rear stair projection. Rear right
projection may date from the C16. 2 storeys. Early C19 3 bay front with C20
front door under Doric porch with entablature with modillion frieze supported on
fluted columns. 12-pane horned sashes, that to the right of the porch replaced by
a C20 French window.
Interior: Ground floor room left has moulded plaster ceiling of the early C18.
Early C19 stair with replaced newel has stick balusters, round-headed stair window
with marginal glazing lights stair hall. Trusses in rear left wing have collars
lap-dovetailed into principals. Remains of 2 similar trusses in main range.
