3/19 Randle monument with 3 headstones - at approx 1.5m north of west end of Church of Saint Corentin GV II

Monument with 3 headstones. 1819-1860. To the Randle family. Slate monolith headstone slabs morticed into a dressed granite border. Rectangular-on-plan stone border with 2 headstones over west side and one over east side. Incised inscriptions facing west. The left-hand one to Nick Harris, son of James and Ann Randle of Colvennor (qv), died 1845 aged 21 also Jane, the daughter who died in 1859. The right-hand one to Ann, wife of James Randle, late of Colvennor, died 1839 aged 57, and James Randle, died 1860 aged 60. The headstone at the rear right is to Nick Harris Randle, son of James and Ann Randle, died 1819 aged 5, and bears the following epitaph: Angels rejoice a child is born Into you the happier world above Let poor short sighted mortals mourn While on the wings of heavenly love An everlasting spirit flies To claim his kindred in the skies.
