PERRANZABULOE NEW ROAD, Bolingey SW 75 SE 5/76 Nansmellyn Farmhouse including front garden area wall - II
Farmhouse. Circa mid C19. Slate rubble with rendered brick window and doorway arches. Asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Gable end stacks, the brick shafts with brick cogged cornices. Plan: The main front range has 2 principal rooms heated from gable end stacks and a central entrance hall containing the staircase. There is a coeval 2-storey kitchen wing behind the right-hand room with a gable end stack and side entrance. The single-storey outshut in the angle at the back is probably integral with the rear wing but the single-storey outshut at the left end of the main range may be a later C19 addition. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front. The windows and doorway have rendered segmental arches with inscribed voussoirs and the windows have slate sills. All original C19 16-pane sashes. Central doorway with a C19 6-panel door, the top 4 panels glazed. At the left hand end a C19 single storey outshut with a hipped slate roof. At the rear a 2-storey wing with a brick stack at the gable end and C19 2-light casement with glazing bars on the outer right side. In the inner (left) angle a single storey outshut with a slate lean-to roof and a C19 sash with glazing bars. Including wall enclosing small front garden area; C19 slate rubble with ramped slate coping and small monolithic granite gate-posts in the front right-hand corner. Interior not inspected but is expected to retain its original joinery including stairs, panelled doors and chimneypieces etc.
