GV II

Small cottage. Probably C18. Plastered stone rubble or cob; stone rubble or brick stack topped with C19 and C20 brick; thatch roof, corrugated iron to outshot. 2-room cottage facing north with left (east) end stack and probably secondary service outshot across the back. The ground floor rooms have now been knocked together. Main cottage is 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2-window front comprising C19 casements with glazing bars to the ground floor and C20 casements without glazing bars to the first floor. Central C19 plank door with an inserted window and C20 open porch with hipped thatch roof. Roof is half-hipped each end. Right (west) end wall has secondary C20 door with similar porch and there is a C20 window alongside. This window and the window in the door this side contain late C19 leaded glass featuring painted glass representations of the seasons in Art Nouveau style. They have been reset but are said to belong to the cottage. Interior shows mostly the result of C19 and C20 modernisations. No original carpentry detail is exposed. The fireplace has been rebuilt in C20.
