Farmhouse. C17 with later C17 and C18 extensions. Slatestone granite, freestone and some blocked render with Delabole slate roofs. Complicated plan development. Possibly: first north-west range then wing forming L; circa 1700 range to wing forming U; later wing enclosing courtyard and finally late C18 infilling of courtyard to provide central stair hall. 2 storeys. 3 windows north-west front, modified late C18 and rendered C20 with slight buttressing of parts of ground floor. Round headed freestone doorcase with cornice is nearly central to fenestration but all offset towards left, upper end. 6-panel door has flush beaded bottom-panels and fanlight over with intersecting geometric glazing bars. Windows are 20- and 16-pane wooden sashes in original openings. Modillions on fascia. Hipped roof with rendered chimney stacks over side walls. 4 window south-east range has door under third window. Walling in bands : slatestone rubble to impost level; granite ashlar with flat band to first floor sill level; rubble then granite ashlar bands over first floor windows. Openings are spanned by flat arches of granite voussoirs. C20 iron casements to all windows. Modillions on eaves fascia. Rendered chimneys over gable ends with small round headed 9-pane sashes in gables to light attic space. Mid-C18 style chimney piece to upper end room or north-west range with circa 1700 geometric plaster ceiling over; early-mid C18 cornice to entrance passage and central stair hall with Chinese influence balustrade to stair probably mid-late C18.
